"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully," Romans 12:6-8

and a baby makes THREE!

Let me just start out by saying how much fun this session was. They were both so easy going, up for anything and I had a great time with them! I have known Alissa for a few years now, as I have worked with her at the Pediatric office... when she announced she was pregnant, I was so excited for her and her husband. Adam and Alissa have a few short weeks left until they will meet their little one.  In an instant their lives will be forever changed. They will experience a type of love that they've never felt before. They'll experience a form of exhaustion they never thought possible. They'll be challenged in ways you cannot explain. But most importantly, they'll be unable to remember life without their newest addition, and they wouldn't have it any other way. Parenthood is the toughest, most rewarding, most humbling, most amazing experience I have yet encountered. I cannot wait for your life to be changed for the better and I cannot wait to meet the newest little boy or girl. I know that baby will be well loved! Congratulations Alissa and Adam, it was an honor to capture this special time in your lives. God Bless your little family.

Another Drobny... and I could not be more excited!

The Drobny Family... lets just say they are awesome. I have had to privilege to photograph this sweet little family as they have continued to grow. Its a blessing, and I was so excited when Holli contacted me about our second round of maternity photos. It was a great morning, and we even were able to add in some family photos with family visiting from out of state! Lets just say the two little cousins, well they stole the show! Congrats Drobny Family, it was a honor and blessing as always! Cant wait to meet the newest little Drobny.

Something to CELEBRATE!

Yesterday was a first for me, I was invited to capture all the fun and specialness of a first birthday. A few months back I took some family photos of this sweet, sweet family. When they contacted me to take pictures of their little mans first birthday party--- I was so very excited.

There is something extra special about a first birthday. Don’t get me wrong, I think all birthdays are reason to celebrate. However, the first birthday, it holds a special place in “milestones.” To be honest, I think it is more of a milestone for the parents. They have survived a whole year as parents, they have survived the first year. A year filled with newness and learning… Learning about each other and often times even more about yourself. Its a year filled with sleepless nights, sleepless days, crying, laughing, sweet moments, doubt-filled moments, and growth.

So, CONGRATULATIONS Josh and Melisa… you did it! You have an adorably sweet little man, and are great, loving parents. His party was everything a first birthday should be… filled with family and friends, fun, and of course CAKE!

Baby Soren

This post is about a week late, but I got caught up in all the Christmas excitement. However, more on that will come later… right now, we will celebrate life! It was so fitting that on the eve of Christmas Eve, I was able to spend some time with a very sweet little family and their newest member, Soren. It was a true blessing.

I am so glad my path crossed with this family. We have littles who are so close in age, Hannah is just a few months older than Soren’s big sister, Adda. And let me tell you, she is the sweetest. Soft spoken, sweet, and oh so darling. Hannah and I both love having her over for play dates. Now, with the coming of Soren, I envision many play dates that include the little brothers too. So very fun having littles who are so close in age and same gender at that!

And their mom, she is amazing. One of those people who you almost feel like you’ve known forever. She is honest, positive, and so very welcoming. That’s one of the best parts of play-dates for me as a mom. Getting to talk to another mom. Hannah, she has quiet the vocabulary, but its still not the same. Matt, he’s very supportive  and can listen well, but its still not the same. Another mom, they get it. They live it. And there is just something so comforting about that. I have loved my time getting to know Ashley better in the past few months, she is a sweet friend and has been such a blessing. I look forward to the prospect of many more mommy and little play-dates.

Boom Family, you are a blessing to so many. Thank you for  welcoming me into your home and this special time in your lives! Adda, thanks for being such a great friend to Hannah! You are already a great big sister. Baby Soren, welcome to the world. You are so sweet, and my little man cannot wait to build a friendship with you.
