So vacations mean rest. We were lucky to go on vacation with Matt’s family this past week to the San Luis Obispo area. This was our first real vacation since Hannah. It was an amazing time but we learned a new meaning to the definition of vacation. Before we would say vacation meant sleeping in, sightseeing, no schedule, no plan, rest... This week we learned that vacations now mean, up at same time as always, sightseeing, similar schedule and semi-flexible plan… and yes, some rest.
I have always loved San Luis Obispo and the surrounding areas. It was so much fun getting to experience so many first’s for Hannah in a place that I (we) love. The weather was unfortunately rather cold but my girl was a trooper. She went swimming for the first time, felt the salty wind at the beach for the first time, felt the cold, wet sand beneath her toes for the first time, and yes even put our feet in the ocean for the first time… it three days packed with first. My girl was amazingly flexible, slept well (as well as any baby on vacation away from routine), and overall had a very happy heart.
It was a great first vacation. I am so thankful to my in-laws for the time away. The opportunity to see the beach. And the quality family time we all had together.
Little family shoot at the beach… didn’t last long, the windy got the best of Hannah’s happy heart…
the beach may have been windy and cold, but the hotel was warm with amazing lighting… loved it!
one last visit to the beach… gotta touch that sand just once more
Hannah sure loves her Mimi and Papa…
