"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully," Romans 12:6-8

2011 in the Harvey’s life…

This year has been filled---- filled with ups and downs, wins and losses--- but what I have learned, is that ALL of it is good. God is good. Throughout this year there has been a theme. Learning to trust, to trust whole heartedly, the God who has never let me down. Relinquishing control has always been a struggle of mine. I have always wanted to have a plan, wanted things to follow that plan, and fought tooth and nail when they didn’t. This year was so exception. However, this year God didn’t tolerate that. He pushed me, challenged me, encouraged me and in the end when I look back, blessed me more that I could have ever imagined. This year could easily have been described as a tug-of-war, which is exactly as it should be. As a person living for something bigger, there is a great struggle to be kinder, more self-less, forgiving and loving. The minute you feel as though “you have it”, as though your “gaining”---- you loose, you end up knee deep in the mud pit. So for my next year, through the ups and downs, wins and losses--- I will try my  hardest to stay humble, and remember that everything is of Him. Cause that is what really matters.

Here is a video of our year--- we are so blessed! Thanks for watching.

Miller Maternity Post

This Sunday I was blessed to spend time with the Miller family once again. Let me tell you, they are an amazing family. Little “Z” is soon to be a big sister and it was so special to capture these moments. She already loves her baby sister and I have no doubt will help her mom and dad. “Z” has grown up so much since the last time I saw her six months ago. However her personality is just as cute as the first time I met her. I cannot wait to meet the new addition to this sweet family. There is so much love, compassion and encouragement that grows in their home, that I know their children will grow up to be amazing individuals. “A” is absolutely a beautiful mom-to-be, full of peace and joy. She is an great mom who loves her children well. Here are some pictures from our time together on Sunday morning.

Englehardt Maternity Session---

Today I was blessed to meet a new couple. The Englehardts. They will be welcoming Haley Jane in approximately a month. Kim is just glowing--- a very beautiful, calm and peaceful mom-to-be. It was very fun to spend time with this couple today and capture this special time in their lives. We spend our time at this amazingly beautiful ranch in Corning. Surrounded by olives, oaks, and the perfect backdrop of a creek bed. Simply amazing. I love being out in God’s creation, and meeting his people--- hearing their stories, witnessing special times in their lives. I feel very blessed by photography. Only hope that my photography blesses others return. Happy Saturday, thank you Englehardts.

Baby Brayden….

Tonight I was blessed to spend time with baby Brayden, his mommy and his grandma. I work with Brayden’s grandma and met his mom when he was just a weee little bump in her tummy. It was so fun to watch him grow in his mommy’s tummy, but it was even more fun to see him today. Let me tell you--- he will be stealing the hearts of many a young women someday! Brayden was perfect for our session--- he was calm, sleeping and ever so precious. God really new what he was doing when he created babies, cause they sure melt your heart. No matter how much they cry, how little sleep you have, or how dependent they are--- you can’t help but fall in love with them! And tonight, I fell in love! Thank you Brayden for bringing a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

A weekend away…. The beauty of His creation.

This weekend my husband and I were blessed to get out of town for the weekend. We spent some much needed quality time with each other and with my family. My sister turned twenty-one this year and to celebrate we spent the weekend wine tasting in the San Luis Obispo area. It was beautiful! My cousin and her daughter also met us for the weekend, which made it extra special. Addison is full of personality, expression, laughter and love. I have not seen her for over six months, and it was so good to catch up with her and her mommy!

I love living in Chico and feel so very blessed for everything we have here in this town. However, sometimes it feels so nice and refreshing to get away, and see other parts of God’s creation. During our two days in San Luis Obispo we managed to see the beautiful wine country, the beach, downtown SLO and Pismo, and the quaint little town of Avila. There was so much beauty around us this weekend. From the amazing venues at the winery's, the colors that painted the leafs of the vineyards for as far as the eye can see, the calm of the waves in the ocean, and the expressions of a child as she witnesses the wonders of this world. This year Addison has the cutest Christmas jacket, that just begged to be captured on camera, and what better place to take pictures then at the beach! Thanks to the amazing photography skills of my cousin, we also took a family photo for my side of the family as well. All in all, it was a very busy, very fun, and very refreshing weekend.
