Christmas seems to be the holiday that involves the most family tradition. This year was a little different, amazing, but different. I would say it was a building year. The Harvey Family Christmas Eve was changed, the Wollbrincks spent Christmas in Chico, and I woke up next to my husband. It was a great feeling to be starting new traditions, things that will last and grow for years to come. I was so blessed to spend this holiday with both my family and my husbands family. Our celebration of Christ Birth began with church and a great Christmas eve dinner at the Harvey's home. Christmas morning, my parents joined us in our apartment where we read the Christmas Story from Luke 2, proceeded to open stockings and exchange gifts. The day only got better as we headed to the Harvey's for a day full of games, laughs, "pursuit of happyness" and a great dinner of soup and salad. Although it did not have that same "feel" of our traditional Christmas, it felt even better. Surrounded by family, engulfed in love, saved by grace!
Christmas Eve:
Christmas Day
"Suddenly a great company of heavenly hosts appeard with the angel, praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest heaven and peace to the people with whom his favor rests.' When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the sheperds said to one another, 'let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.' So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the baby, who was lying in the manger." Luke 2:13-16
