Yesterday we ventured to Stockton California to cheer the UC Davis field hockey team on as they faced UOP. However... the primary reason I made the drive was because my sister is on the team. In my opinion she is not only on the team, but the star of the team (yes, I admit to being partially bias). We witnessed an amazing game for the Aggies as a whole, but I was unbelievably proud of my sister and her two goals... so proud in fact I decided to share with you clips of the article posted today about the game. It has been so fun to see my sister act as captain and leader on the field. She has so much respect for herself and her teammates, and I could not be more proud of her. All her hard work, determination, commitment and passion was evident throughout the whole game yesterday. Great job Aggies, AMAZING job Casey!
"Casey Wollbrinck scored two goals for the UC Davis field hockey team, helping the Aggies advance into overtime where they eventually took a 4-3 win after penalty strokes vs. Pacific Saturday, at Brookside Field in Stockton, Calif. The game marked the first time in program history that an Aggie contest was decided by penalty strokes... UC Davis managed to bounce back at the 27:30 mark, scoring on a penalty corner, with Casey Wollbrinck finding the bottom right of the cage. Despite am 8-6 advantage in shots for the Aggies, they took a 2-1 defecit into the intermission.... Late in the second half, Pacific took back the lead, using a Jenna Vivian goal to go up 3-2 in the 61st minute. UC Davis didn't waste anytime providing another equalizer, as Casey Wollbrinck tallied her second goal of the game in the 62nd minute.... UC Davis will begin competition in the NorPac tournament next week on Wednesday, Nov. 3 in Davidson, N.C." UCDavis Womens Field Hockey Website
