"We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully," Romans 12:6-8

Baby Boy Davids…

I will admit that I absolutely love newborn sessions--- reason being--- I get to hold very cute, cuddly, precious babies while taking pictures. Although, it does make it harder to resist having my own children--- cause they are just so darn sweet. It was such a blessing to hang out with Baby Davids today. A few months baby, he was featured on the blog via maternity shoot and ultrasound picture--- and today I was so excited to take pictures of this 12day old bundle of joy. He was absolutely precious. The Davids family, is amazing, and Baby Davids is very lucky to have to older sisters who simply adore him. He was wide awake, alert and very happy for the majority of our time together--- a real trooper. Davids, you are one special family and I am so thankful for the opportunity to come along side you during this very exciting time. Congrats!

Meet the “M” Family

I was so blessed this morning by my time with this amazing family. The way they interacted was so pure and special, this little girl has a lot of love in her life. And their backyard--- amazing. They have one of the most unbelievable backyard gardens I have ever seen. Little “Z” gave me a tour of everything from snow peas to cherries to the most delicious looking raspberries. Thank you “M” family for allowing me to capture your amazing family. Enjoy.

“Oh the Places You’ll Go!”---Meet Austin

Today I met Austin for the first time. Let me tell you--- he is one cool kid. Well, not a kid--- a soon-to-be high school graduate to be exact. I had some much fun getting to know Austin and his mom Susan better today. All the green that is now Bidwell Park was the perfect combination for Austin’s blue eyes. I heard about all he did at Durham High, wow! He dreams of big things, which I have a feeling he will accomplish with much success. Thank you Austin for allowing me the pleasure of coming along side you during this special time in life. Austin, always remember what Dr. Seuss says, “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.” Congrats on your accomplishment. Enjoy.

Summer is upon us…

The weather has warmed up--- really, really, warmed up. Warm weather, fresh fruit, sunshine, bright eyes and a cute little boy, doesn't that sound like a perfect afternoon? Jonathan’s eyes glistened, his smile was bright, and his heart was warm as always. Here are some pictures from our time together today. Thank you Jonathan for bringing sunshine into my day!

The little pictures that bless me.

Everyone has things that bless them. Things that make their heart smile. Sadly, I feel that often times we only see the big picture.  And not even the BIG picture, but our big picture. God has a direction for us. There is a goal, a purpose, a reason for each and every one of us to exist on this earth; the BIG picture. We cant see that picture; its probably best that way. I don’t know what will happen in the next two years let alone the next two minutes, but that doesn’t mean I don’t try. I may be the largest culprit of planning, dreaming, questioning. I see what is happening (or not happening) now, today, yesterday and I try to predict tomorrow in order to make sense of today. I’m walking blind into my future, and during times when I cant see a foot in front of myself --- I get nervous. Scared. Uneasy.  Over the past few months of transition--- my big pictures has appeared to be bleak, it has been undesirable.

But you know how I know that I am okay? That He has everything under control? Because of the little pictures. My life is made up of many little pictures, and most of them are blessings! Crazy isn't it--- how the undesirable, bare, frustrating big picture is made up of blessing filled little ones. So for the past few months, I have been trying to focus on all the little pictures in my life.

Pictures that bless me--- a beautiful sunset, spending time with my nephews, nutritious food in our home, unexpected evening run with my husband, songs that are played at just the right time, flowers on our porch (even though they ignite my allergies)and moments spent with those in front of my camera. My life is made up of many more little pictures, and praise be to God that you all are in lots of them. I am one blessed woman.

I have many little pictures that exclaim--- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.

Here are my little pictures--- what are yours?
